Available: Bottle Rockets (United States), television comedy pilot, set in Nashville, centers around a group of performers trying to make it in show business. In the pilot, we meet Jake who just started seeing a super hot chick who might be a dude. Connor is trying to figure out what to do with his life while juggling some fire and throwing bottle rockets. Available: Gorilla Trap (Canada), historical account, is the story of American’s first roaming serial killer, Earle Nelson, and how he was finally caged. Newspapers nicknamed him The Gorilla Man. He didn't appear dangerous to any of his twenty victims, but he left cities cowering behind locked doors and law enforcement officials baffled and empty handed as he moved through San Francisco, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Detroit and Chicago. Available: GrandMother Drum (United States), contemporary affairs, according to creation stories of the world’s religions, creation started with sound. A White Eagle Medicine Woman was visited in dreams by indigenous grandmothers giving her spiritual guidance to build a giant healing drum. This documentary records the building of and worldwide journey of GrandMother Drum, the largest of it’s kind, as it gathers thousands in vigils for peace. Victoria (Puerto Rico), drama, proves the power of skilled acting and a powerful storyline. Victoria, played by Luisa de Los Rios, is a successful, but unfulfilled at lawyer. That changes when she meets Fat Girl, a rap singer who enjoys his live and follows his dreams. Excellent casting of secondary players allows for an engaging, and well-told story. This is the first feature-length drama by the director, but clearly it will not be her last. Earned a Best of Show award in the Accolade Competition; and Winner of the Paoli Award. 110 minutes.
